God made you YOU for a purpose!!!

That purpose wasn’t to punish you. It wasn’t to torture you. It wasn’t to make you feel miserable.

The only purpose He had in creating you to be YOU -> your personality, features, limits, and gifts is because He knew what you could do with it.

He has a very special purpose for YOU!!!

So stop trying to compare yourself to the next girl! Stop trying to have her life, her looks, her talents, her everything!

God has asked me to be vulnerable with you today. So here it goes...

I don’t know if you can tell from this first picture of my brother and I in a hike, but I have a really bad rash on my neck. Scroll and you’ll see what I mean.

This rash appeared in the summer of 2019 out of nowhere, except it wasn’t just out of nowhere. I was going through some severally heavy things during this time.

People around me told me it was shingles, but I knew better. I know how the body works. Our body is a map of our inner thoughts, emotions, and feelings. Everything we experience physically is caused by our emotions. It’s truly a beautiful design! (Read: Feelings Buried Alice Never Die for more on this)

This rash made me feel ugly and insecure. I was so upset that it had come on during a time where I was already questioning my worth, my value, and my beauty and then ta-da something that actually makes me feel more insecure. Can you say hello to my body reflecting my emotions?!

This rash lasted from July to October, that’s 4 months of panic if me not knowing if this would ever go away.

But, let me let you in on a little secret!

YOU ARE NOT YOUR BODY!

YOUR WORTH DOESN’T COME FROM YOUR BODY!

Thoughts about your body not being good enough, skinny enough, flawless enough, beautiful enough are lies! Lies from Satan! Even if a guy turns you down for one of these things, it’s still a lie. It just means the guy is buying into Satan’s crap as well.

I came closer to God during this time. I had to! I felt alone and not enough for the world! God was my refuge to turn to and that’s when I really gained stronger testimony of the truth.

Now... I’m currently going through something similar. I have been since November and haven’t been able to wear much makeup since December. I’ll share more of that story later this week if you’re interested.

But I had to make it clear that your body is a vehicle for your spirit. That’s it’s only purpose!!! No matter what you look like, YOU ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH!!!

As our hearts 💕 truly love God, our hearts expand and our capacity to love others, to love ourselves, and to love our lives grow.

God is the catalyst to love. He is the Ultimate creator of it. Just what if God asks you to love Him as a commandment not out of authority, but out of a gift to you?

He knows that if you show your love to Him, you’ll pray more, read your scripture more, serve more, and do all those things that bring righteous blessings.

He knew that loving Him would expand your heart to have better self-esteem and more joy in life because you find love, give love, and feel love everywhere you go!

And isn’t Christ that can teach us how to love Him? Come into Him, it’s the secret to EVERYTHING!

Speaking to groups of girls is my love & my passion.

A story I often share when speaking is the the time when I competed in 9 different pageants and didn’t win one.

This used to be such a hard thing to admit because to the rest of the world it looks like I failed. I tried & tried and never reached my goal.

But really, it’s allowed me to see how God works on my life. He opened my heart to trusting that He could use me WITHOUT a crown 👑 on my head. And He does that time & time again.

I always think I know where I’m going and my way is better and He proves me time & time again. My desires are valid and He uses them, but sometimes He uses them to open doors I didn’t know I wanted it needed open. His way is ALWAYS better.

As daughters of God, we are sisters and we need one another!! When we see each other as equal value and increase our own self-esteem by owning our true individual worth, we can then love & bless others without fear of loss or scarcity.

This is the true cycle to unity.

As we choose to practice an abundance mindset, we know that when we give, we have nothing to lose and everything to gain. There’s enough love, ideas, business, friendship, happiness, and opportunities to go around!

Reading scriptures everyday is vital for our faith to grow.

I’ll never forget when I was new in the singles ward. I was in the bishops office and he asked if I was reading my scriptures daily.

I told him I was struggling so hard to understand them. The way they were written was just too complicated for me so I wasn’t reading as often as I should.

He encouraged me to go home and read every single day without fail and it would get easier.

I took his challenge and within less than a year, I was called to a position in my ward where I was teaching others from the scriptures.

Am I perfect at understanding them? Not even a little bit! But I most certainly fell in love with them so much deeper making them resonate in my heart more and allowing the Spirit to teach me through them more.

If I could tell girls anything about the scriptures, it would be this... READ THEM! Give 5 minutes every single day without fail to the scriptures and you will be made a completely different person with much higher self-esteem.

Every girl has FIVE minutes. Perhaps you need to sacrifice something to get that in at times, but your sacrifice will be worth it!

How will you know? If something is true for you, it brings you peace! Trust in the peace!

These truths have been taught to me in many different stages of my life and I’ve held onto them and cling to them during the good times & the hard times.

When I was in high school I was just about the shyest girl you had ever met.

I worried about what everyone thought of me. I was never brave enough to do the things I actually desired to do. And I sometimes ended up eating lunch alone because I didn’t have that many close friends and was too shy to make more.

A mentor would have changed everything for me. I was the oldest in my family so I had no one to talk to about all the things. My mom was struggling immensely with depression and I craved being seen. No one to go to for advice. No tips. No one to cheer me on or encourage me to be my best.

A mentor would have meant a completely different outcome of my self-esteem and outcome in going for my goals.

We all compare, don’t we?

It seems to be a natural human tendency that at the end of the day can have us believing the biggest lie that we don’t matter because someone else can do it better.

This is NEVER the case! The world needs YOU, because you girl are irreplaceable!!!

The human race is like a giant puzzle, and you are a piece! Have you ever lost a puzzle 🧩 piece? So annoying, right? You don’t get the full effect or feeling of accomplishment without that one piece.

There are words that only you can say. You say them in a way that is unique and resonates with the tribe you are here to influence.

Your smile touches the perfect souls! It makes this world a brighter better place.

No one can love like you can love. Your heart is uniquely yours and it’s meant for you to open it, receive messages, and then spread love 💕 everywhere you go.

Trust that you are perfectly you for a reason! You’re needed and the world would be lost without you!

The other day I caught myself saying to my hubby “Tell me why you love me.” He named a few of my positive traits and then we moved on, but it got me thinking deep about something I’ve known, but had new layers of it to learn.

Are we only loveable for our strengths or perfections? If someone doesn’t have many or they aren’t things that can be named, should they be a less easy person to be loved?

The answer? NO! How do I know this? Because I look to Christ for all truth & knowledge. Does His love change from person to person depending on their strengths? Of course not! So should ours? NO!!!

I’m a huge believer that some of us have weakness by choice. I believe in the premortal world we got to pick a lot of the experiences we would have down here on earth. They help us learn, grow, and live life in a profound way! The weaknesses we have are so very tied & connected to those of others. What we see in others is in us too.

Therefore, whether or not my husband is able to name my weaknesses as reasons why he loves me, doesn’t make me less lovable or less valuable. It simply means he’s still coming to peace with his own weaknesses. But in the meantime I can own mine and know that I’m worthy of every drop of love that could be offered.

3. Say aloud “I am worthy of love! I am loved.”
4. Feel loved all the time whether people have nice things to say about you or not.
5. Experience happiness not dependent on others all the days long!

Here are 5 thoughts to empower you this Valentine’s Day!!!

1 - You are 100% loveable always - Nothing you do it don’t do makes you any less loveable. You are worthy of being loved simply because you’re human and have intrinsic value.

2 - No one can make you feel a certain way - Sometimes we look to our spouse, a boyfriend, or a friend to make us feel loved, important, valued. But if you feel one of those, they are coming from the thoughts you are having about the experience and nothing they said or did.

3 - Your worth doesn’t come from your relationship status - you aren’t better than it less than for having a significant other in your life. Being married proves nothing! You’re enough simply by being you!

4 - The singleness season is a gift - This season in your life is an opportunity to bring you to your knees, allow you to dance with God, and to learn to trust Him with your whole heart.

5 - Love can only come from within - We look to others to make us feel loved but that feeling of love comes from our very own thoughts and beliefs. God is constantly giving love to everyone, but not everyone feels it. If we believe what someone is doing is loving, we feel loved!

I have felt both extremely loved by my Heavenly Father where nothing in the world could pop my bubble of joy that came with it. And I have also felt forgotten, abandoned, and cut off from the love of God.

Were both of these experiences on Him? No! They weren’t. They were on me and the space my heart was in.

Love isn’t something other people give to us. It’s an emotion we feel based on the space we are in.

Through the times I’ve felt the love pour in and the times it felt as if the Heavens were shut and God was ignoring my pleas, He was actually shining His love to my heart.

Our hearts being open or closed is the real determining factor. Do you believe God loves you? Do you use your thoughts to reflect on His love & abundant blessings often? This is one powerful way to allow your heart to open big that you may feel His love abundantly pouring upon you!!!

That is one huge secret to joy!

JOURNALING is the greatest tool I know. So often

JOURNALING is the greatest tool I know.

So often it’s our thoughts getting in the way of us living our authentic lives. Your thoughts need somewhere to go! Every night take the time to direct your thoughts to a source outside of yourself to give you more power over your life!

Here’s 7 types of journals I have:

1) Priesthood Blessing Journal- I write down what I remember from the blessing every time I receive one.

2) Every day journal - where I write memories, thoughts, ideas, my daily thinking.

3) Sunday Journal - I take this journal to church with me every Sunday to take notes or thoughts from the Spirit.

4) Prayer Journal - I write letters to Heavenly Father in this one whenever praying is easier on paper than in words.

5) Gratitude Journal- Every morning I record 3 things I’m grateful for or every night I record 3 ways I say Heavenly Father in my life.

6) Prayer Planner - I love planning out my prayers. Product coming soon to the shop!

7) Black Journal - This is where I record negative thoughts & voices to trap them there so they never have to come back again.

The adversary wants to disguise his voice and then distract you from making a difference, living your purpose, and becoming who you were destined to become.

If you listened or even acted on his voice before (we ALL have), all is not lost! It’s just a beautiful reminder that we don’t have to listen to him. Listening to him takes away our joy.

“And men are that they might have joy” 2 Nephi 2:25

The more you catch his voice, the more you can hear the voice of the spirit and invite peace into your heart.

I’m going to share a mentoring tool here with you that I share with my clients. Grab a black notebook and carry it with you everywhere. Anytime you have a negative thought or voice pop into your mind, write that word, sentence, phrase down. Catch all these ugly words spinning in your mind and give them a place to go. NEVER go back and reread these. You’re simply taking power over your life by catching your thoughts and sorting the negative from the positive. Don’t forget the proverbs that says “as a man thinketh, so is he.”

Satan has been feeding me lie after lie today.

Lies that have broken me down to tears.

Lies that are trying to keep me stuck, play small, or feel abandoned.

But that’s just it, that’s how we know they are lies. If they aren’t positive, making us feel at peace or live in joy... it’s not truth coming from Christ.

I’ve had to rely on my Savior immensely today to get through. Through every tear and every plea in my heart, He held space for me. He understood.

And when I would catch my breath for a minute, sweet truths would come into my heart that it was a lie. The truth and the sweet tender mercies found in this day were brought to me by Christ.

When you have a day full of lies and tears, look for the good thing. There will always be at least one. When you find it, you’ll know Christ was in your corner looking out for you. He was there being your mentor and cheerleader all along.

No matter what the lie is, if it doesn’t make you feel good, it’s not truth. Because all truth brings you peace as it lines up with what your spirit self already knows.

So often we look 👀 to the world for our worth. We find our worth in our clothes, our friends, the amount of people that like us, our talents, our successes, and on and on the list goes.

One way I’ve caught myself feeling like my worth is on the line is when my husband says something like “you’re on my nerves right now.” It hurts my feelings so deeply and I’ve found myself spiraling in thoughts where I then feel worthless.

He will then see he hurt my feelings, which he never truly knows intends to, and he’ll then admit that it’s his battle with patience or easily being annoyed with himself that makes him say these kind of things.

This is how we as humans operate. You’ll never find a weakness in others, unless it’s in you too. And you’ll never find a strength in others, unless that too is in you.

When we get really quite snd remember what Christ has done for us or take time to hear His words, we’ll always find that our worth can’t change or compare to others.

You are ALWAYS enough in Him. He makes you enough and He takes away all competition & comparison. Hear His words! He sees more greatness in you than you’ll ever be aware of in this life.

Let’s talk about marriage!

One of the greatest things I’ve ever done is allowing God to write my love story.

I wasn’t always like this!

Right out of high school I got into a really unhealthy relationship. It was so toxic and so damaging to me.

I wasn’t willing to set boundaries because I thought it was my job to save people. This guy was begging me to date him, he seemed interested in the church but needed a push, and I could tell he was going through some really heavy things.

Typically, that would scare anyone away. But I’m a strong empath and I have gifts that I’ve recently discovered (I wasn’t aware at the time) and I just didn’t know any better so I started using them in the wrong way trying to save rather than taking care of myself first.

I begged God to let me marry him for five years because I was afraid of being single and had convinced myself I didn’t deserve better because if I broke up with him, he wouldn’t be emotionally strong enough to handle it.

Are you seeing just how twisted my thought patterns were?

I finally had the courage to let go and could hear God’s voice giving me the courage & faith to trust in the better plans He had for.

Little did I know how much better they could be.

After that breakup I didn’t meet McKay (my husband), until 3 years later. And even that wasn’t smooth sailing. (I’ll for sure come back for that story soon!!)

We got married almost two years after our first encounter and by that time I was 27 years old. I thought for sure I’d be married by 21, but God’s plans are greater!!!

Those years of being single were some of the greatest (although most trying years of my life). They allowed me to grow my faith, to discover Christ in the most intimate way, and to help me discover who I am and I who I desire to become.

TREASURE being single!!!

Now, that’s not to say what being married is always roses. We’ve had some really hard trials in our marriage and last year was the hardest.

But pouring into my marriage and more into prayer surrendering to God of His Will is ultimately what has taken us to where we are today. My marriage is beautiful today and I thank God constantly for that!
