A Free Write is a POWERFUL tool to get rid of negative emotions and to help you process emotions that need to be dealt with. If you’ve never learned this before, it may sound a bit odd but…every physical problem we go to is tied to an emotional problem. One way we can avoid physical problems is by not allowing negative emotions to fester up inside of us.
Here’s what you can use a free write for:
1 – FORGIVENESS:
Ever just been so mad at someone or had your feelings hurt so deeply? It doesn’t feel very good and that script just keeps playing through your mind over and over again. A free-write gives you a space to collect those thoughts and take power over them.
Write all the anger and everything you wish you could say to that person. Then it’s time to burn it so the negative thoughts and emotions don’t harbor you anymore. The energy will disappear with the words into ashes helping your heart to feel peace again.
2 – NEGATIVE EMOTIONS
Our thoughts lead to our emotions, we talked about that in this post over here. But that means the thoughts you are thinking are creating how you feel now and the emotions you’re more likely to fill in the future.
If you take the time to get these thoughts and emotions out on paper, you’re showing your brain that you are choosing to take power over them and practice self-control which is absolutely what the Savior wants you to do.
This is a powerful way to clear old toxic energy and allow new possibilities to flow through you & your life. Negative energy creates trapped emotions that get trapped in our body and cause problems to manifest until they are dealt with.
3 – TRAUMA
We all go through traumatic events and it will look different for every single person. Never judge your traumatic events or someone else’s because it doesn’t seem like it’s that traumatic. There are so many factors that make one experience so unique from one person to the next.
Take the time to write about your traumatic events as this can be a way to heal and possibly overcome PTSD. Don’t ever re-read what you write, this is supposed to be for your healing and what your subconscious brain has stored is not something you always want to relive. Don’t rush this experience, if it was a long time ago, you probably have loads of emotions stored in you that you’re not fully aware of. Just write little by little, this could be a long journey of healing as it’s been a long journey for your mind of storing. There are often loads of layers, so be gentle with yourself.
4 – EVERY MORNING AS A ROUTINE
To make this a daily habit has great power in helping you unleash those creative abilities within you. It can also help you manage your emotional/mental health as a great coping skill. This will forever change your life if you allow it to.
