Girl power comes FROM the Lord. Do you want more girl power, power showing that you are capable of all things? Turn to the Lord. That’s the ULTIMATE secret. The world has it backward and as you seek the Lord, you’ll start to discover that for yourself.
What could you do “In the strength of the Lord” (Mosiah 9:17) that you couldn’t normally do on your own?
We often make the mistake not to try something because it looks so hard, but how might it be different if you took The Lord as your partner and relied on His strength instead?
What if overcoming a physical or mental illness isn’t always defined by the world or by science, but what if it was part of your destiny as a daughter of God by relying on the strength of the Lord? It’s not some secret formula to rely on the strength of the Lord, it’s honestly making the choice to love Him and waking up every morning committed to showing Him that love. Perfection is not the goal here. It’s simply about desiring to connect with Him.
Perhaps you’ve had some negative beliefs like I have that who are you to actually here revelation from God. Maybe you’ve believed He speaks to others, but you’re just not on the list of that importance. I had this belief so strongly rooted in me. It looked like revelation and answers would come to others so much easier than me. But that belief can change!
If you have that belief, I would first recommend you spend some time in prayer asking Heavenly Father to show you what might be getting in your way of connection. I have to be honest. You won’t always love the answer, but it will always show you the way. It may be cutting down your TV time or changing what you eat. It might be spending less time with a friend who brings you down or it could even be service requests that you’re asked to go on that could be a bit out of your comfort zone.
Whatever the answer you receive is, do it. It may take some time or be a gradual change, but I can promise you with my whole heart it’s going to be worth it. Looking for some help and guidance in the process? The book that helped me the absolute most is called ‘He Did Deliver Me from Bondage’, by Colleen C. Harrison. It’s a book about overcoming our weaknesses, and don’t let anyone fool you. We ALL have them! Mine was too much TV and turning to food to numb what I didn’t want to feel.
Clear out the static in your life, the things that cause you to drift just a little bit and you will find just how much of God’s power starts to fill you. Need help or a cheerleader? Send me an email (found on the contact page). I just love helping you! Sending prayers your way.
P.S. One more tip that might be helpful is to get a priesthood blessing from your father or a worthy priesthood holder that you may be able to overcome the struggles you’re battling. Also, don’t be afraid to ask your parents or YW leaders to put your name in the temple.
