Limiting beliefs are beliefs you have that are holding you back in life. And the tricky thing is… you may not even know you have a harmful belief until you do some digging. These limiting beliefs AREN’T truth. I repeat, there aren’t eternal and they aren’t what God is believing about you. They either come from the adversary or they are thoughts we started to believe (probably MANY years ago) that limit our faith.
FAITH – what is it? What do you think of when you think of faith. Probably believing in something you can’t see, right? But what if the most powerful part of faith is taking an optimistic thought and holding onto it long enough for it to actually become your reality… no matter how long it takes?
Limiting beliefs about ourselves take away from our faith and are far from fitting in with the YW theme.
Let’s talk about some common limiting beliefs teen girls have because the sooner you figure out what’s holding you back, the sooner you can move forward and be the girl you have always meant to be.
The problem with these limiting beliefs is that the more we believe them, the more they start to hold us back from actually being who we are meant to be and reaching our true potential, RATHER THAN us taking power OVER our lives.
If you believe that no one wants to talk to you or that people have more fun when you’re not around, then what’s your action going to be? You’re now going to not want to talk or show your personality. Perhaps you’ll be quiet and sit out a lot from groups because why would you be motivated to go talk to others when you think they don’t want to talk to you? — BUT, here’s the thing, who said they don’t want to talk to you or that you’re not fun to be around. Perhaps someone (which was ONE person’s opinion). so that does NOT apply to every situation you’re in. What if no one even said that and that’s just the belief you’re carrying around with you? Then you’re missing out on so many friends and fun experiences because you’re not showing up how you really could.
How do you know something is a limiting belief? If it’s holding you back from living your life in FAITH or in ETERNAL TRUTH, then it’s a limiting belief.
Limiting beliefs are going to hold you back from so much in life and that’s not a fun or fulfilling life to live. So what if we choose to let that go? Are you READY to break through those beliefs that aren’t serving you?
See (positive affirmation post) to be able to know how to break through those limiting beliefs and write your own “I am” statements.
